U.S.E. - Welcome Aboard

I'm delighted to announce that, for the 2012 season, I will be supported by USE (Ultimate Sports Engineering) who will be providing me with their lightweight and race proven handlebars, seatposts and stems to finish my race bikes in style

I'm delighted about this new partnership as, not only are they the sister company to Exposure Lights, who have supported me throughout my riding career, but they are a local company to me and I have had opportunity to observe the effort, enthusiasm and heartache that goes into each product by the team to ensure that only the products they are happy with finally make it out the door.

2012 Race Equipment - Chapeau!

More parcels arriving in the post, one of the happy things about this time of year, that helps to offset the worst of the long, cold, wet winter miles that can occasionally get a bit too much when my plans get a little over ambitious and overstretch either my clothing or food (or both!) that I have with me.... who an I kidding, I love my winter miles ;-)

2012 Race Equipment - Kask Mojito Helmet

Kask's new Mojito helmet

I opened the door today and was delighted to be handed a great big box by the postman. I daren't try and guess what was inside based on the weight, but when I opened it I immediately saw the Kask logo. I was super chuffed to find a new, shiny white Kask Mojito helmet inside the box, thanks Kask!

A Devil's Dyke Winter Wonderland

Looking down the Devil's Dyke sledge tracks
and wondering just how icy it will be
Pic: Rory Hitchens
For those of you who haven't looked out of the window; it's been snowing lately. A lot. This doesn't mean a halt to the serious business of winter miles, but it does mean a lot less seriousness, a few fewer miles but no reduction in the length of times rides take and, like last night showed, an increase in the underestimation of how long it can take to get places!

Last night's ride was no exception. Even after three days of struggle, it was a whole lot of fun.

Weekend winter biking: Proof I was there in the snow
It's a lot deeper than this now!

RWD Brake Pads - Welcome Aboard

I am delighted to announce that, for the 2012 season, I will be supported by RWD (Race Winning Designs) brake pads. Although a new name in the world of cycling, these guys have been making brake pads for over 30 years right here in Swaledale in the UK. Given the choice of a bike component brand selling brake pads or a brake pad specialist selling mountain bike products, I know which I'd rather choose...

First up, there's still a good amount of long, muddy, winter miles to be done before the start of the endurance season, so I'll be putting them through the grinder straight away, the timing couldn't be better, thanks RWD!

Kask Helmets - Welcome Aboard

Kask's New Mojito helmet

I'm delighted to announce that for 2012 I will be supported by Kask Helmets. These are the guys that have neen supporting and working with Team Sky, to whom they have supplied their excellent Vertigo helmet. There's rumoured to be something new and improved in the pipeline for 2012 that has come out of this partnership, I can't wait to get my hands on it.
